WELCOME TO TARA FELICE INTERIORS, LLC
A native New Yorker, I moved to Memphis with my family over a decade ago. My work history ranged from working in the financial services industry, to being a full time stay at home mom, to being an indoor cycling instructor. Design was not even on my radar screen!
My design journey began when my husband, Jeff, and I built our own home in East Memphis. I fell in love with everything design related, and simply couldn’t get enough. I was like a sponge, soaking up all elements of design that I could find. Even when we moved into our new home on Valentine’s Day of 2015, and our house was complete, I wanted to keep going!
Unfortunately, life had other plans. Just 2 months after moving in, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I spent the next 6 months doing chemo and surgery and spent a lot of time at home. It was during this time that I came to understand and appreciate the vital role your space has on your health. Your home has to not only be beautiful, but it has to feel beautiful as well. When you’re surrounded by pretty things that you love to look at, and are surrounded by items that mean something, you just feel better. Your home and your interiors affect not only you and your own health, but also the health of your relationships. It impacts how you interact with the people with whom you live.
About 9 months after my diagnosis, I helped a dear friend renovate and redecorate her house. We started slowly - it was scary spending someone else’s money! But as we progressed, I grew bolder and more confident, and within a year, we had drastically altered almost every room in her home. The result was exciting and beautiful and, most of all, functional!
Helping my friend was the catalyst that made me realize that interior design energized me and was something that I felt passionate about. It was from this experience that Tara Felice Interiors was born! I have come a long way since those early days. My diverse portfolio consists of projects not only in and around Memphis, but also reaching as far away as Oxford, Nashville, New York, Florida and Chicago. I have honed my craft and ethos, and if I had to put my design style into 2 words, it would be “sophisticated comfort”. I strive to create spaces for people that are beautiful to look as well as being completely livable. Approachable and functional are words that define my design philosophy. One should not take themselves too seriously, and the most important thing to remember in designing a space is to HAVE FUN doing it!
